Exam Pattern:

The examination would be done in Four stages.

  1. Screening or Prelims Test
  2. Physical Test
  3. Main Written Examination
  4. Interview

The candidate needs to first clear the prelims examination which will be held on in the month of March 2020. And it will be in the MCQ format. After passing the prelims examination, the candidate will qualify for giving the physical test. Fro the second stage, again candidates are filtered based on their performance. In the 3rd stage, the Candidate has to clear the written main examination. And at last, the candidate needs to give the interview. And from the accumulation of main examination and interview marks, A cumulation of marks will be generated as merit. Based on the final merit top 40 Candidate will be selected for the PI post.

The number of posts:

The total number of vacancies is 40. The general category has 16 No. of posts. Sc category has 3, ST category has 6, SEBC category has 11 and EWS has 4 number of posts. So the number of vacancies is very limited and the competition is very high for the police inspector post.

Payscale For Police Inspector (PI) Post:

This is a class 2 level post. So as per all class 3 officers, this post has to fix payscale of Rs.44,090. This pay scale is fixed for the first 5 Years. After that according to the pay Matrix scale 7, it can increase up to 1,42,400 Rs. So it is very good for all candidates who want to join the police department. And the payscale and job profile are very good.

Police Inspector Examination Pattern:

The weightage for each examination would be as per below.

The prelims examination and physical examination is only for the screening purpose. The prelim exam consists of 300 Marks and the maximum time to complete this exam is 3 Hours.

The main examination has a total of 800 Marks and it will be conducted in 4 papers. The details for this examination as per given below.

Education Qualifications:

Any Graduate or Appeared in final 12 months or remaining semester of any Graduate Exam-Degree acquired from any of the Universities installed or incorporated by means of or beneath the Central or a State Act in India; or any other educational group recognized as such or declared to be deemed as a University beneath Section three of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or in other words

(2) All candidates who are declared qualified via the fee for performing in the Main Examination shall be required to supply evidence of passing the degree exam together with their application for the Main Examination. The candidate who fails to supply evidence of passing the degree examination shall no longer be eligible. For admission to Main Examination. (three) Possess the basic expertise of Computer Application as prescribed within the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967. (4) I possess good enough information about Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Age Criteria:

The minimum allowable age for this PI post is 20 Years. And the maximum allowable age for Police Inspector post is 35 Years. There is some age relaxation that is given for some casts. Ex-servicemen and women, Female (unreserved) categories have 5 years of age relaxation.
